There is no single price for a “full detail.” In the published examples below, a wash starts at $18 per foot and wash, buff and wax is listed at $36 per foot. Those are one Southern Maine provider’s packages, not a national range. Condition, included surfaces and extra correction work change the job.
Compare the same work first, then the total price. A hull-only quote and a quote that includes the topside and interior are different purchases.

Back Bay Boat Works’ price list separates cleaning, protection and correction; heavy oxidation is an additional charge with a specified surface area. The business identifies its location as Southern Maine. Confirm current rates, billable length and final scope directly. These examples show a billing method, not a guaranteed quote.
For another scope comparison, Jax Pro Detailing in Jacksonville distinguishes exterior-only work from packages covering more surfaces and lists exclusions such as barnacle removal. Its explanatory pricing example differs from its package rate, so we do not use it to calculate a benchmark.
Using the Maine provider’s listed $28/ft wash-and-wax rate, 24 × $28 = $672. That is a base arithmetic example, not a final invoice. If a supplier quotes flat pricing, use that amount instead. Ask whether the billed length includes a platform or other extensions and whether tax, travel, access or additional correction is extra.
For your own quote: base = billable feet × quoted rate. Then add separately confirmed charges once. If a minimum applies, ask whether it applies to the base service or the whole job before calculating.

Compare the work you can access and complete with the actual quoted scope. Add your supplies, equipment rental if needed and available time to a DIY budget. For unfamiliar finishes, existing coatings or extensive correction, ask for an assessment and follow the boat and product manufacturers’ care instructions. A cheaper product basket is not equivalent to an agreed professional result.
If there are cracks or damaged laminate, start with a fiberglass repair assessment. Keep cosmetic detailing separate from repair costs in your maintenance budget.
